Fun Fair at The Lighthouse Church...Reaching Beyond our World

If you're in the Tulsa area this coming weekend,  we'd love to have you stop by our Fun Fair.  There will be lots of activities for the kids with a concert in the evening.  The concert will feature our very own sanctuary choir and the famous saxaphonist, Rev. Joey Waldrep.  The fun begins at 2:00pm Saturday, September 26.

A New Day

We made it home.  WhooHoo!!!!  The flight seemed to take forever. 
It was good to go, but even better to be home.

Kenai Fjords National Park

We took a cruise through a portion of Kenai Fjords National Park. On the way we saw eagles, puffins, several other birds, sea lions, sea otters, and a juvenile humpback whale. The whale was the most impressive. We didn't get too many good pictures of it since he would go down in the water and come up in a different area. It breeched, but by the time my camera took the picture all that was left 

was the splash

 

The glacier, a frozen river, was the next best site.  The sounds it makes are incredible.

This cruise was probably the best adventure of our week.

Happy Anniversary

to us.  We are celebrating our 6th Wedding Anniversary.  We visited the largest national park in the US.

It's been raining and cloudy so we haven't seen Mt McKinley, but we have seen some moose and got to pet the bears.

I've been warned not to pet the bears...

surely, it won't hurt to pet just one.

Day One....Wild Salmon on Parade

When the midnight sun comes up in Alaska the rivers and streams will soon be teaming with wild salmon. 

On the streets of downtown Anchorage, we discovered the most extraordinary salmon run of all. 

It is to these streets that the wildest of wild salmon faithfully return each summer.
